Alright people lets get right into the good stuff, fishnets and jeans. This currently has to be my favourite trend, I love the edginess that fishnets bring to such a casual outfit and the versatility of being able to wear them with pants, dresses and skirts. Normally I wouldn’t wear fishnets outside of a music festival, halloween or the bedroom but this combination of layering fishnet stockings underneath jeans is gold.
I would have preferred to wear tights that had smaller fishnet holes but I searched high and low and all you fashion forward babes sold out the stores I popped into. I had this pair that i’m wearing just sitting in my drawer from a music festival I attended last year, so I thought I would try it out first before purchasing another pair. I will say using the washroom and having to peel off so many layers can get a little annoying but fashion isn’t always about function. At least not for me! I wanted to keep this look simple, so I paired my ripped jeans with this white Palina Pralina “Not a blogger” t-shirt and my army green Zara bomber. Yes, I do know I am a blogger, no need to point it out. I purchased this T-shirt as I thought it was purposefully ironic being that I am a blogger and this t-shirt is made by fabulous blogger.
By pairing the fishnets with such a simple t-shirt and jeans look, it helped to tone down the sexual aspect that fishnets can bring to an outfit. Don’t get me wrong, being overtly sexy and wearing fishnets can be fire but for a 1pm lunch on a sunny day I thought I would take the more toned down approach. If you’re looking for alternative ways to incorporate fishnets into your wardrobe, consider pairing them with a leather mini, black heeled ankle sock boots and a structured button down. I think that an outfit like that could perfect for date night.
Let me know of any other ways you guys have styled your fishnets, I always need new inspiration!
Hope you are all having a lovely weekend!
