That is a wrap on Vancouver Fashion Week F/W 17! As always Vancouverites came out in full fashion force, both days I attended were filled with high energy and creative vibes. I love that no matter if you’re wearing jeans and sneakers or a dress and heels, anything goes at Vancouver fashion week. I am very thankful to the Vancouver Fashion Week media team for inviting me and thank you to Ana V Cosmetics for partnering with me and allowing me to take over their Instagram on Saturday night! I had a blast playing with their products at the beauty bar and seeing them in action backstage! Ana was kind enough to send me home with a few of their products; including their amazing contour palette and three beautiful shades of lipsticks. If you are a make-up lover or someone looking to expand their make-up knowledge keep reading for my full review on the Ana V Cosmetics contour palette; as well as more photos from Vancouver fashion week!
Now let’s get in to it! The Ana V Beauty contour kit includes six beautiful shades; 2 contour colours, 2 brightening shades and 2 face shades. The products themselves are lovely, the powders have very little to no kick up when I dip my brush into them and the contour shades were cool toned but not muddy; which is everything you want in a contour shade. I also loved applying these as I felt that the powders really blended into my skin beautifully; they didn’t sit on top of my face or make me look too cakey and powdery. As someone who deals with with dry skin there is absolutely nothing worse than powder that begins sticking to dry patches.
I really like that you get 2 brightening shades, one white/translucent colour and one banana powder colour. These underneath you’re eye area will give you that extra awake look, as well as help set any concealer or foundation from creasing. Ain’t nobody got time for creasing concealer. The 2 face shades you receive are one light skin colour powder to set your all over foundation and a lovely peachy pink blush, to give you that just rolled out of bed flushed look. My only gripe with this product is that this palette will probably only work for light to medium skin tones. If you are a deep skin toned girl or boy unfortunately the face powder shade would just be way way to light and depending on how dark your skin tone is, the contour shades may be too light to contour with. While keeping that in mind I do love the wearability of this contour palette for lighter skin tones and the variety of products you receive in this kit are so versatile.
To summarize my thoughts on this palette I think that this could be a great addition to any girl or boy’s collection; whether you are a first time contourer or just love to try new brands (like me!) the product is buttery, applies evenly and is the right shade of cool tone brown to give you that desired shadow. Until next time!
