Vancouver Fashion Week is under way and the designers and designs are simply incredible! My personal favorite was native Vancouverite Evan Clayton, his designs were beautiful, raw, innocent and sinful all in one show. When I first heard about the story behind this seasons designs I was a little unsure about how that would play out on the runway but after seeing the symbiosis between the dark and the light, as well as the obvious juxtaposition between them I understood the story he was trying to tell. I loved his use of bandage through out the ‘dark’ designs of the collection, the only thing I will say is for someone like me those pieces are unwearable unless I was to add a slip or some serious spanx’s to those dresses! None the less they were magnificent.
What really made me love this collection was actually the colours and pattern of the ‘lighter’ designs. They gave me a summer a in the England vibe, very proper but still gaving off a strong sex appeal with the tight skirts. I know silk tops and flower patterns aren’t everyone’s cup of tea but that’s what I love about Evan, you can’t pigeon hole his designs into one category. I’m so glad that this season he showed everyone he’s more then just this dark and strong designer but also can create light and romantic designs.
Now to wrap up my rambling, I’d like to announce that Evan Clayton won an award last night and will be sponsored by Vancouver Fashion Week to attend Vienna Fashion Week! That means a whole new collection is just on the horizon. Congratulations Evan!

|This was my favourite piece from the whole evening! It reminds me of something you would wear while running around a palace garden while a boy chases you on a warm summer night. Welcome to the over active romantic nature of my imagination.|
